Construction Sciences was engaged, as part of a multidisciplinary Cardno team, to undertake an Acid Sulfate Soils Site Investigation and prepare an Acid Sulfate Soils Management Plan for the 100 hectare proposed new golf course site, on the northern banks of the Maroochy River.
After co-ordinating and supervising an extensive drilling and sampling program, soil samples were analysed in-house at our NATA accredited laboratory at Kunda Park. These results were then incorporated into the Acid Sulfate Soils Management Plan provided to the project Principal.
During the construction phase we were engaged by the principal contractor, McMahons, and our scope of works included monitoring of groundwater and surface quality, along with verification testing to confirm successful neutralisation of the disturbed Acid Sulfate Soils and the provision of general advice relating to Acid Sulfate Soils management and treatment.
Our involvement in the project extended into the post construction phase, where we were responsible for groundwater and surface water monitoring and testing to confirm no ongoing impacts of the development.
