Project Description:

The Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport (WSA) Station Boxes & Tunnelling Works is a critical part of the transformative infrastructure project that is Greater Western Sydney’s new metro rail network. The works involve designing and constructing 9.8 kilometres of twin tunnels and station excavations at key locations, including St Marys, Orchard Hills, Airport Terminal, and Bradfield City. It also includes constructing service facilities to support the metro system at strategic locations.

This metro system will enhance connectivity for Western Sydney, linking communities, the new airport, and major hubs in the region. Beyond improving transport efficiency, the project is expected to provide significant economic benefits, supporting thousands of jobs during construction while delivering a sustainable and modern transport solution.

Our Role:

Construction Sciences was awarded the Construction Materials Testing services contract for the Sydney Metro – WSA Station Boxes & Tunnelling Works. These services ensure that materials used in tunnelling, station excavation, and associated infrastructure meet stringent quality and safety standards, contributing to the successful delivery of this critical infrastructure project.
