The team at our new Brisbane head office have been fundraising for the Mater foundation RACQ International Women’s Day Fun Run. The Chicks in Pink event aims to raise awareness of Breast Cancer in the lead up to International Women’s Day (March 8), by funding research that focuses on improving survival rates for all women diagnosed with the disease.
On any given day, 50 women* will have their worlds turned upside down when they hear the words “You have breast cancer”, and eight women* will tragically lose their fight against the disease. ( *Cancer Australia, 2018)
These women are our mothers, daughters, sisters and friends. Fundraising efforts will be helping to fund life-saving research at Mater to better understand and treat breast cancer now and into the future.
Construction Sciences’ participants are completing the 5km course on March 6 and registrations are still open for the virtual option.
